MARK DEMING

After ten years as a brand manager and marketing director in the outdoor recreation industry, Mark started Deming Creative to act on his belief that responsible business and thoughtful marketing can improve lives and encourage progress. When not at work, he is hard at play exploring mountains, rivers and deserts with his wife, Sarah, and their three sons.

CAPTAIN OF DISCOVERY

Sarah's approach to life can be summed up in one phrase: "Look out, I'm going for it!" Her energy, optimism and intellect make her the spiritual guide of Deming Creative as well as our head researcher. She holds a master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and has worked since 2010 as a private consultant to companies and nonprofits.

Emily is a successful entrepreneur, communications consultant, producer, and writer who has spent her career carving a powerful niche in the confluence between business and cause to create some serious impact. For more than a decade, she has worked side-by-side with some of the world’s most respected nonprofit organizations, brands, and influential voices. She has also been known to throw one hell of a party and wholeheartedly believes that we can save the world one party at a time.

CURRENT SHIFT MEDIA

Melissa specializes in digital marketing, brand communication strategy, and content marketing for purpose-driven brands and organizations. She helps our clients build powerful relationships and intense brand loyalty by bringing intention, strategy and planning to digital communications across all channels. When she's not out exploring the PNW on her sailboat, she's usually trying to fix said sailboat.

BEN HERNDON
PHOTOGRAPHER/FILMMAKER

Ben is a freelance photographer, writer, and filmmaker who probes beyond the Instagram action to capture the friendships and emotions that make our adventures memorable. His 2018 film, Das Fisher, is a high-art tragicomedy about a 19th century Bavarian fly fisherman in 21st century America.

WAZEE MOTION PICTURES

Skip Armstrong is an award-winning director and cinematographer whose client list includes Boeing, Air New Zealand, Ford, Toyota, National Geographic, Camp 4 Collective, BF Goodrich Tires, The North Face and more. His films have been awarded at major film festivals including Banff and Telluride.

PHOTOGRAPHER/FILMMAKER

Will combines his passions for visual art and outdoor adventure to document some of the planet's most remote and beautiful places. His work has appeared at numberous film festivals, received a Vimeo Staff Pick, and graced the pages of National Geographic Magazine.

PHOTOGRAPHER/FILMMAKER

Jacob's creative genius manifests itself in photos and films that capture natural landscapes and candid human emotions with technical mastery. He has worked for leading outdoor brands, national non-profits and politcal candidates--and once interviewed former US President, Jimmy Carter.

FACILITATOR

Jessica specializes in facilitation and organizational development to help mission-focused organizations align strategy, practice, and culture for greater effectiveness and joy. She loves living on a farm in Idaho with her family, a responsible dog, a hard-working barn cat, forty philosophical chickens, and thousands of industrious bees.

A former journalist, Meredith's marketing and communication style is firmly rooted in truth, accuracy, and bold storytelling. She is a big fan of civic engagement and protecting our public lands for future generations. When she's not at work or volunteering in her community, you can find this Idaho native camping and hiking (often in national parks) with her husband, Chris.

Whether it’s due to a lively curiosity or a restless spirit, Doug has spent his professional life serving a number of industry sectors both in and outside the U.S. He brings a keen sense of homing in on a North Star and managing resources to bring a project to completion. His creative writing background and 15+ years of experience in PR, client relations, and sales gives him a hands-on ability to take the strategic to the tactical. He lives with his family in Moscow, ID: a perfect headquarters for outdoor adventures.
